Welcome!  This blog is an experiment in expanding communication with my patients and their families.

I am a pediatrician practicing at HealthPartners in Arden Hills, Minnesota.  I have more than 20 years experience in caring for children, teens and young adults.

I also teach communication skills to health professionals and coach physicians to help them build therapeutic relationships with their patients.  I am also interested in improving healthcare team performance, to assure effective and safe health outcomes for all patients.

In my free time, I garden, knit, read, travel,camp, and most recently, geocache!
